What it does

Triethyl citrate is made from citric acid and ethanol. In deodorants it slows the enzymes that break sweat down into smelly compounds; in fragrances and nail products it acts as a solvent and softener.

CosIng lists it as solvent, plasticiser, deodorant and perfuming. It is synthetic and does not count as fragrance on its own. It affects none of the six checks.
