What it does

Tetrasodium EDTA grabs calcium, iron and other metal ions that come in with water and raw materials. Without it those ions would dull foam, cloud a clear gel and speed up the breakdown of oils and preservatives. It is common in shampoos, soaps and shower gels. CosIng lists its function as chelating.

It is synthetic and affects none of the six checks.
