What it does

Palmitic acid is one of the most common fatty acids in nature, abundant in palm oil and also present in animal fat. In cosmetics it thickens creams, forms soap when neutralised and gives cleansers a creamy feel. CosIng lists it as emollient and emulsifying.

The label does not say whether it came from plants or animals, so on its own it leaves the vegan answer at not sure.
