What it does

Octocrylene absorbs UVB and short UVA light and, unusually, protects avobenzone from breaking down in sunlight, which is why the two are so often listed together. It also helps sunscreens resist water. CosIng lists it in Annex VI as a UV filter with a maximum concentration.

It is synthetic and affects none of the six checks.
