What it does
Methylchloroisothiazolinone (MCI) is almost always paired with methylisothiazolinone in a 3 to 1 blend. The EU allows the pair only in rinse-off products such as shampoo, shower gel and liquid soap, at a low maximum concentration. CosIng lists it in Annex V as a preservative.
It is synthetic and affects none of the six checks.
