What it does

Magnesium nitrate is rarely added on its own. It is part of the commercial preservative mixture that contains methylisothiazolinone and methylchloroisothiazolinone, where it keeps the blend stable, so it shows up on the label of many rinse-off products next to those two names.

CosIng lists it as hair conditioning. It is a mineral and affects none of the six checks.
