What it does

Isopropyl myristate is myristic acid joined to isopropyl alcohol. It spreads quickly, feels thin rather than greasy and helps other ingredients sink into the skin surface. It also dissolves waxes and makeup. CosIng lists it as emollient and binding.

Its myristic acid comes from coconut or palm kernel oil in most supply, but can be animal-derived, so on its own it leaves the vegan answer at not sure. It is not a drying alcohol.
