What it does

Hydrogenated castor oil is castor oil that has been saturated with hydrogen so it becomes a waxy solid. Deodorant sticks, lip balms and lipsticks use it to hold their shape; creams use small amounts as a thickener.

CosIng lists it as viscosity controlling, emollient and emulsifying. It is plant-derived and affects none of the six checks.
