What it does

Glyceryl stearate SE is glyceryl stearate with a small amount of potassium or sodium stearate added so it can form an emulsion on its own. It is a common base for lotions, creams and conditioners.

CosIng lists it as emulsifying. Stearic acid is usually taken from plant oils but can come from animal fat, and the label does not say which, so the vegan check says not sure unless the product is marked vegan. It affects none of the other five checks.
