What it does

Glyceryl stearate citrate holds oil and water together in creams and lotions and leaves a soft finish. It is popular in natural-positioned brands because it can be made from vegetable fats and is accepted by organic standards.

CosIng lists it as emulsifying, emollient and skin conditioning. Stearic acid is usually taken from plant oils but can come from animal fat, and the label does not say which, so the vegan check says not sure unless the product is marked vegan. It affects none of the other five checks.
