What it does

Ethylhexyl salicylate, known as octisalate, absorbs short-wave UVB light. It is a weak filter on its own but a good solvent for stronger ones, so it appears in most chemical sunscreens and many tinted moisturisers. CosIng lists it in Annex VI as a UV filter with a maximum concentration.

It is synthetic and affects none of the six checks.
