What it does

Dehydroacetic acid stops fungi and yeast in creams, cleansers and wipes and is often paired with benzyl alcohol. It is accepted by several natural cosmetics standards, so it appears in many products marketed as natural. CosIng lists it in Annex V as a preservative.

It is synthetic and affects none of the six checks.
