What it does

CI 14700 is a water-soluble azo dye known in the US as FD&C Red No. 4. It gives a clear pink to red colour in shampoos, bath products and mouthwashes.

CosIng lists it as a colorant; in the EU it is permitted with restrictions on where it can be used. It is synthetic and affects none of the six checks.
