What it does

Caprylic/capric triglyceride is a fractionated oil: the medium-chain fatty acids of coconut or palm oil joined to glycerin. It spreads easily, does not go rancid quickly and dissolves oil-soluble ingredients, which is why it sits in so many creams, serums, cleansing oils and sunscreens. CosIng lists it as an emollient and solvent.

The glycerin part can in principle come from plant or animal fat and the label does not say which, so on its own it leaves the vegan answer at not sure unless the brand marks the product as vegan.
