What it does

BHT (butylated hydroxytoluene) is added in very small amounts to protect oils, butters and scent molecules from oxygen. It is common in lipsticks, lip balms, perfumes and creams with plant oils. CosIng lists it as an antioxidant.

It is synthetic and affects none of the six checks.
