What it does

Benzyl alcohol keeps products fresh and helps dissolve other ingredients. It is an aromatic alcohol, not a drying alcohol, so it does not count against the alcohol-free check.

It appears on the EU list of fragrance allergens, but on its own it does not make a product fragranced. We only count it when Parfum or other fragrance components are present too.
